Robert Vela serves as the 22nd President of Texas A&M University-Kingsville. He assumed the role of President in June 2022, after serving as President of San Antonio College since 2014. President Vela’s career has been dedicated to promoting access and opportunity to higher education across Texas. His many honors include the 2021 Aspen Institute Prize for College Excellence.
