Excelencia’s Policy Agenda: Affordability Excelencia’s policy agenda advocates for policies to increase degree attainment and close equity gaps to accelerate Latino student success based on the current educational realities. Our affordability policy recommendations provide an opportunity for policymakers to make it easier for students to navigate financial aid systems and provide additional funding to programs that support Latino student success.
Excelencia’s Policy Agenda: Institutional Capacity Excelencia’s policy agenda advocates for policies to increase degree attainment and close equity gaps to accelerate Latino student success based on the current educational realities. Our institutional capacity policy recommendations provide an opportunity for policymakers to address inequities by strengthening the capacity of these institutions to improve Latino students’ access and completion in higher education.
Excelencia’s Policy Agenda: Retention and Transfer Excelencia’s policy agenda advocates for policies to increase degree attainment and close equity gaps to accelerate Latino student success based on the current educational realities. Our retention and transfer policy recommendations provide an opportunity for policymakers to address inequities by strengthening the capacity of these institutions to address college pathways and priorities to retain Latino students to increase Latino student completion.
Excelencia’s Policy Agenda: Workforce Preparation Excelencia’s policy agenda advocates for policies to increase degree attainment and close equity gaps to accelerate Latino student success based on the current educational realities. The pandemic showed that Latinos are overrepresented in the workforce but in jobs that are vulnerable and lower in pay. The included recommendations support Latino students’ successful transition to the workforce.

Excelencia in Education Receives Important Grant by Ascendium Education Group to Expand Work WASHINGTON, D.C. - January 14, 2021 – Excelencia in Education is starting the new year with increased support for its national leadership in understanding and advancing Latino student success through an important grant from Ascendium Education Group.
