Latino Access and Success, Why the Two Must Work Together: Freshman Honors Convocation Luncheon
The Freshman Honors Convocation recognizes first year African American, Native American, and Hispanic students who achieve a fall semester grade point average of 3.0 or higher, their first semester at NC State University.
The Freshman Honors Luncheon is by invitation only and will address the topic, "Latino Access and Success, Why the Two Must Work Together", and will feature Dr. Estela López.
Dr. López, the former Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of the Connecticut State University System (CSU), has held top administrative positions in different institutions and settings, including Chicago, where she was the Provost of Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU), and Puerto Rico where she served as the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Planning at Inter American University.
Currently, Dr. López serves as the senior program advisor with Excelencia in Education, a national organization which aims to accelerate higher education success for Latino students by providing data-driven analysis of the educational status of Latino students and by promoting education policies and institutional practices that support their academic achievement.
