In 2003, 11% of Latina PhDs in science and engineering that were employed in colleges and universities were professors. Just over 15% were associate professors and 37% were assistant professors. In comparison, 30% of Latino (male) PhDs in science and engineering were professors, 20% were associate professors, and 23% were assistant professors.
