Latino Student Success
To develop greater understanding about institutional leadership and practices that promote Latino student success, six public, baccalaureate institutions from California, Texas and New York engaged in a 18 month long demonstration project to examine Latino Student Success at Hispanic Serving Institutions (PDF). The project was funded by the US Department of Education, Fund for the Improvement of Post Secondary Education.

Examples of Excelencia
Begun in 2005 as a national initiative designed to identify, celebrate, and promote models, programs, and institutional departments that significantly contribute to improving educational achievement for Latino students in higher education.

Events

EXITO Task Force
While Hispanics remain significantly underrepresented at all levels of educational attainment1 there are encouraging trends, promising practices, and successful academic outcomes for Latino students to be found across the country. The EXITO Task Force (Excellent Ideas Transform Outcomes) will review, document and summarize current research findings that pertain to Latino student success, as well as promising institutional practices, and academic support models that yield consistent and measurable outcomes of Latino student achievement.
