¡Excelencia! Ambassadors

In the Spring of 2009, two students were selected from Youth Build, a program supported by the Latin American Youth Center (LAYC) in Washington, D.C. to serve as the Excelencia in Education Ambassadors.  As Excelenica Ambassadors, Elsa Perez and Bayron Garcia served as representatives of Excelencia in Education on Capitol Hill for various events and activities.

Elsa Perez is currently working toward acquiring her GED.  Ms. Perez aspires to a career as a school nurse and, in February 2010, she began an internship in school nursing.

Bayron Garcia is currently working toward acquiring his GED. Mr. Garcia is interested in working in the field of information technology and began an internship within his chosen field in 2009.
