The eight Texas colleges and universities in the Texas-Mexico border region not only lead the nation in enrolling and graduating Hispanic students in the United States, they have committed to accelerating the participation and success of their Hispanic students beyond state and national rates. This presentation describes the participation and success of these eight institutions and the policy environment in which they do their work, and discusses acceleration plans and promising strategies for improving success rates for Latino students in higher education.
