On December 14, 2009, Excelencia in Education held a Capitol Hill pre-release briefing  in cooperation with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute focused on,Taking Stock: Higher Education and Latinos.

This brief summarizes current data on Latinos in higher education and synthesizes the views of elected officials, service providers, and Latino students. The results highlight critical policy considerations affecting Latino students in the current higher education context and suggests steps necessary to accelerate Latino student success in higher education. Taking Stock: Higher Education and Latinos is a part of an Excelencia in Education project sponsored by the Lumina Foundation for Education.
