Diverse Presents Award to Arturo Madrid During the 2009 Examples of ¡Excelencia!

Arturo Madrid, Distinguished Professor of Humanities at Trinity University, received the 2009 Dr. John Hope Franklin Award from Diverse Issues in Higher Education magazine. Cited for his "intellectual excellence and integrity in research in scholarship," Madrid joins a short, exclusive list of honorees that includes poet Maya Angelou, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Johnnetta Cole, president emeritus of Spelman College.
