Fast Facts

While Latinos were less likely than Latinas to take the SAT, Latinos had higher mean scores in some subject areas. Of 2008 college-bound Hispanic seniors who took the SAT, 43% were male. Hispanic males had higher mean scores than Hispanic females in mathematics (478 vs. 444) and critical reading (459 vs. 452), but the females had higher mean scores in writing (450 vs. 442).
