A breakfast briefing and showcase to honor the 2008 Examples of Excelencia: programs and institutional departments demonstrating evidence of accelerating Latino success in higher education was held in cooperation with U.S. Representative Ruben Hinojosa, Chairman, Subcommittee on Higher Education, Lifelong Learning and Competitiveness. The briefing included an update on the status of achievement for Latino students in higher education and discussed the important work being done by the 2008 Examples of Excelencia and how that work is helping to enhance America’s competitiveness by improving opportunities and outcomes for the nation’s fastest-growing student population.
