Excelencia Action Network
Connecting and accelerating successful efforts
Significant research documenting the needs, experiences, and accomplishments of Latino students are being developed every month. Pulling out the practical application of the research and findings is a critical step to presenting this new information to policymakers and institutional leaders who are in a position to act. The Excelencia Action Network aims to bridge this disconnect and will build a national inventory of strategic information and promising practices while concurrently establishing a community of professionals to better connect policy experts and leaders of institutions and organizations working to increase Latino student attainment in higher education.
The Action Network will provide leaders nationwide a forum to communicate and collaborate online, and to work together to grow promising strategies and a common agenda for the field. Participants will share ideas about education principles and practices and the scholarship of teaching. The Action Network will identify not just what institutions are doing, but what is truly working.
Compelling Positive Action
Action Network members will commit to certain achievements on an annual basis that will be benchmarked and reported by Excelencia. Eventually, the Action Network will coordinate activities across institutions, systems, and states; assess the viability of the recommendations in a given institutional context; or scale up to create widespread and systemic solutions.
