Partners
Excelencia in Education seeks to expand the national discourse on Latino student success in higher education. Starting with the following strategic partners, Excelencia is building network of concerned and active policymakers, practitioners, researchers, educators, students, and community based organizations.
Hispanic Heritage Foundation
Excelencia's newest partnership is with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF). Capitalizing on the nationally recognized Hispanic Heritage Awards at the Kennedy Center, HHF identifies, promotes and prepares Latino role models through national leadership, cultural, educational and workforce programs. Excelencia and HHF have joined efforts focused on the current and past recipients of HHF’s Youth Awards. For more information, please visit, HispanicHeritage.org.
The Institute for Higher Education Policy
The Institute for Higher Education Policy is a non-profit, non-partisan organization whose mission is to foster access and success in postsecondary education through public policy research and other activities that inform and influence the policymaking process. These activities include policy reports and studies, seminars and meetings, and capacity building activities such as strategic planning. The primary audiences of the Institute are those who make or inform decisions about higher education: government policymakers, senior institutional leaders, researchers, funders, the media, and private sector leaders. NALEO Educational Fund
Established in 1981, the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed (NALEO) Educational Fund works to empower Latinos to fully participate in the American political process. The NALEO Educational Fund serves its mission by developing and implementing programs that promote the integration of Latino immigrants into American society, developing future leaders among Latino youth, providing assistance and training to the nation's Latino elected and appointed officials. National College Access Network (NCAN)
Last year, Excelencia in Education forged a partnership with National College Access Network (NCAN). The mission of NCAN is to improve access to and success in postsecondary education for disadvantaged, underrepresented, and first-generation students. NCAN does this by supporting a network of state and local college access programs that provide counseling, advice, and financial assistance; sharing best practices among the network; providing leadership and technical assistance; and helping establish new college access programs. The first Excelencia Symposium was organized in cooperation with NCAN and offered at their annual conference. Visit their website.
