Celebración de ¡Excelencia! 2011

A record audience of professionals from colleges and universities from across the country joined members of congress, state legislators, federal officials, business leaders, and representatives from national education and advocacy organizations at this year’s Celebración de Excelencia.

The 2011 Examples of Excelencia and finalists at the associate, baccalaureate, and graduate levels were announced.

Celebración Speakers:

Under Secretary, U.S. Department Education, Martha Kanter, delivered the special address.

Other Celebración speakers included:  Representative Charles Gonzalez (TX), Chairman, Congressional Hispanic Caucus; Delegate Ana Sol Gutierrez (MD); Jon Whitmore, CEO, ACT.

KeyNOTE ADDRESS:

Marta Moreno Vega, Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute and participant in the HBO documentary the Latino List, delivered the keynote address.
